Privacy Policy for RE-BUILD-ME

RE-BUILD-ME is a private daily journaling app. It is designed to help you rebuild consistency without guilt, pressure, or tracking.

Effective date: 31st March 2026

1. No Data Collection

RE-BUILD-ME does not collect, store, or share any personal data.

  • No accounts

  • No sign‑ups

  • No cloud storage

  • No analytics

  • No tracking

  • No third‑party services

2. Your Data Stays on Your Device

All journal entries, reflections, activity logs, and settings are stored only on your device, inside the app's private storage.

For iPhone (iOS):

All journal entries, reflections, activity logs, and settings are stored only on your device, inside the app's private storage. RE-BUILD-ME does not send your data to any server.

However, if you have iCloud Backup enabled on your iPhone, Apple will include a copy of your app data in your iCloud backup as part of your overall phone backup. This is an Apple system feature, not something RE-BUILD-ME controls.

You can disable backup for this app in your iPhone settings:
Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage → Backups → [Your iPhone] → turn off RE-BUILD-ME

For Android:

All journal entries, reflections, activity logs, and settings are stored only on your device, inside the app's private storage directory .

On Android 10 and above, RE-BUILD-ME uses scoped storage – your data is kept in an app-specific directory that other apps cannot access . The app does not require any storage permissions to read or write your journal entries .

If you have Android Backup enabled (through Google Drive), your app data may be included in your Google account backup. This is an Android system feature. You can disable backup for this app in your device settings:
Settings → Google → Backup → App data → turn off RE-BUILD-ME

For both platforms:

If you delete the app, all data is permanently removed from your device.

If you switch devices, data does not transfer automatically (but you can use the Backup feature to export and import your data).

3. No Sharing

RE-BUILD-ME does not share any information with anyone. There is no server, no database, and no way for us or anyone else to access your entries.

4. Optional Features

  • Passcode: If you choose to enable a passcode, it is stored locally on your device. If you forget it, your data cannot be recovered unless you have exported a backup.

  • Notifications: If you enable daily reminders, they are scheduled locally on your device. No notification data is sent to any server.

  • Backup: You may export your data as a JSON file. This file stays on your device unless you choose to move or share it.

5. Children’s Privacy

RE-BUILD-ME is not intended for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

6. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here. No personal data is affected by policy changes because no data is collected.

Why I Built RE-BUILD-ME By Justin Tee If you'd told me a year ago that I'd be writing a blog post about building my own app, I wouldn't have believed you. I was stuck. Inertia. Depression. Medicated. And I still am some days. I was fit before. I was consistent. I had willpower. Well, because the best things in life are free. RE-BUILD-ME is free. No ads. No subscriptions. No data collection. It will stay that way. I built this app because I needed it. Because I was stuck. Charging a pound a month would change the relationship. Not with everyone. But with the person who cannot afford it. With the person who is already stuck and now has to decide whether their rebuild is worth a subscription. Free is not a marketing strategy. It is a value.
