What ME Means
ME is Me, Myself and I.
It's the reminder that this is your rebuild. Not your mate's. Not your uncle's. Yours.
I've read a self-help books and articles. Most of them talk to you.
They tell you what to do. You should be kind to yourself. You can do it.
But when you read those words, whose voice do you hear? Someone else's.
ME flips that.
I tell ME what to do. I should be kind to myself. I can do it.
Listen to yourself. Talk to yourself – talking aloud actually helps.
Build agency and believe in yourself again.
When you read this blog, I'm writing to you. But the moment you take it in, it becomes ME, Myself and I.
Your goals = My goals.
You're Rebuilding You = I'm Rebuilding ME.
Why ME Matters
On an aeroplane, they tell you to put your own oxygen mask on first.
You're no good to anyone if you're unconscious.
The same is true for rebuilding your mental health. You can't show up for your family, your work, or your community if you're running on empty.
ME is your oxygen mask. It's not selfish. It's survival.
Look after yourself first. Then you can look after others.
The Truth
No one else is going to rebuild you. Not an app. Not a therapist. Not a coach. They can help.
I am only just understanding something: that only I can Rebuild Me. I am taking ownership of Me.
ME is the quiet acknowledgment of that truth. Not with pressure, but with presence.
Doing something, Everyday, becomes the foundation for Rebuilding yourself.
You don't need perfect days. You just need to Breathe.
Read it as ME:
I don't need perfect days. I just need to Breathe.
Doing Something, Everyday, becomes the foundation for Rebuilding Myself.
I don't need perfect days. I just need to Breathe.
Doing Something, Everyday, becomes the foundation for Rebuilding Myself.
Six months ago, in me personal notes, I wrote: 'I don't even know who 'you' is. Maybe I am writing to myself.'
I did not understand it then. But I understand it now.
I was writing to ME. I just had not met him yet.
